NIESV Lagos State Branch Paid A Courtesy Visit To ESV Biodun Olapade FNIVS
NIESV Lagos State Branch, led by the 28th Chairman, ESV Olugbenga Ismail FNIVS, FRICS, paid a courtesy visit to ESV BIODUN OLAPADE FNIVS
During the visit, the 28th Chairman thank ESV. Biodun Olapade FNIVS for his continued support for his predecessors and pleaded for continued support for his own tenure and others to come.
The chairman introduced members of his EXCO to the Management and Staff of Biodun Olapade & Co.
The chairman seized the opportunity to present the Lagos State Branch’s 50th year anniversary photo books.
ESV Biodun Olapade FNIVS was honoured to receive the new EXCO. He apologized for rescheduling the earlier date slated for the visit.
He intimated the EXCO on his plans to partially retire soon as he turned 63years old on the 1st of October, 2023, stating that he has been in active practice for over 40 years.
He further expressed his concerns on the unavailability of Estate Surveying and Valuation jobs for the young Estate Surveyors and Valuers, which is a major factor discouraging them from the practice.
He admonished the branch chairman to come up with policies and programmes that will facilitate collaboration between the private and public sectors, as the survival of our practice depends on it.
He further emphasised that in the area of property management, most tenancy issues could be solved with alternative dispute resolution (ADR) while one of the ADR center could be NIESV recourse center, to be duly recognised by the Government.
The chairman responded to ESV. OLAPADES observations, he emphasized the need for Estate Surveyors and Valuers to develop capacity, he gave an example of the Branch’s Partnership with the new Real Estate Academy Knight Frank has just kickstarted.
The Branch has also had capacity development trainings through the MCPD Subcommittee and HOP subcommittee over the past years .
He also seized the opportunity to reiterate his agenda which are advocacy, leadership, and membership experience.
Esv. Biodun Olapade concluded with prayers and encouraged exco members to support the chairman wholeheartedly.
